I'm building an extension to my property when do I need to consider the trees?
As soon as possible in the planning process. If a qualified architect has been engaged and an initial lay-out has been proposed it is time to discuss any trees on site. The sooner any tree/building conflicts are discussed the quicker and cheaper the whole planning process can be.
What does a Tree Risk Assessment & Condition Survey contain?
Details of your trees (height, crown spread etc.) a full risk assessment of the risk associated with your trees and their surrounding areas. Details of remedial works, future considerations and any other relevant issues relating to your trees health or safety.
My trees have a TPO or are located within a Conservation Area, can you help?
Yes, we can discuss your initial concerns, conduct a site visit and compile a simple report for the Local Planning Authority if required. We are also happy to act on your behalf and complete the whole application process for you if you wish.
Do you offer quotes over the phone?
Yes, most of the time a quote can be given there and then over the phone with a few simple questions. There may be instances when a site visit is required to give you a detailed quotation, but these are offered free of change.
If you have any other question not covered here, please feel free to contact us
What should I expect during my site visit, and how long will it take?
Site visits for surveys are required to gather all the information needed for your reports. Most instances this is just visual information along with measurements and other site details. You would not need to be present although we encourage this if possible as clients often find this a good opportunity to discuss any issues or questions they may have.
The length of time it takes depends on the number of trees to be assessed, any obstacles in terms of access to the trees and how much information needs to be gathered for your reports. But an indication of time will be given during the quotation process.
How long will it take once a quotation has been given?
Once agreed a site visit can be scheduled within 5-10 working days, and reports forwarded to you within 3-5 days after this. However, if timescale is of concern and you need our services sooner we can often complete reports sooner than this.
We are fully aware of just how imported timescales can be so please do not hesitate to discuss this during the quotation.
My mortgage lender/insurers have said I need a tree report can you help?
Yes, these reports (Homebuyer report, Pre-purchase tree Survey or Mortgage Tree Report) are often required by lenders/insurers to evaluate the risks from trees and vegetation on the property. The report will assess the trees current health & condition, potential structural damage and provide management recommendations. Issues such as soil properties and tree water demand are usually considered.
Can you complete any recommended works for us once we have received your report?
PBA Arboricultural Solutions does not undertake tree works as part of their core business. However, we fully understand how difficult it can be choosing a contracting company and are very happy to help and advise you on the right criteria to look for in a tree service provider.
Some Tree Surgeons offer reports too why would I use you?
Although there are many reputable companies offering both tree contracting services and consultancy services. Some companies use this to their advantage and can upsell you services or tree works which are unnecessary. We offer only consultancy services and therefore do not prosper in any way from upselling tree works or recommending unnecessary felling etc. Its one way to ensure fully independent professional advice, and can often be cheaper than combining these services.
